Malcolm didn't have time to process the TARDIS before it was moving with Jack's help. Malcolm collapsed to the ground and buried his head in his hands. Team Arrow was dead....Thea was dead.Yet another of Malcolm's loved ones was gone and he had lived. He was torn between rage and the deepest grief he had ever known.  He had no idea what they were going to do now. Where could they even dream of going now.

"We're together," Mercy said firmly, though her voice had a little quaver in it. "And right now that's what I have to hold on to. Let's get somewhere safe and... and worry about the rest later."

Despite her brave words, her eyes were full of tears and her hands were curled tightly into Jack and Malcolm's clothes to keep them close.

"And how do they feel about people who can change into a coyote." Mercy said with a small sniffle. It was a half-hearted attempt to lighten the mood.

She hugged him a little tighter, then raised her head enough to look up at Jack's doctor. "Thank you for helping us," she said. "I... don't know how to thank you enough."

Mercy hesitated. "If it's not too much to ask, is there a spare bedroom where we could all rest?"

They needed to just be able to hold each other - cry or rage as they needed to - in some privacy.

At least she did.

"The TARDIS?" Mercy asked. "Well, um... thank you, TARDIS."

She let Jack help her up, giving him a curious look. "As long as there's a bed, we'll be happy," she said to the Doctor. She wrapped an arm around each of her men, wanting them close, and let Jack lead the way.

Mercy leaned into the two men a little. "It looks so wonderful. And welcoming."

She looked longingly at the bed. "I just want to crawl in, but I'm filthy and really ought to get clean first. Maybe I could lie on the floor of the shower and just sleep there."

Mercy found a small smile for him, then stripped off - leaving her clothes in a small pile near the door - then padded her way into the bathroom.

She turned the water on, but found once she'd climbed under it that she had no energy left to do anything else. She leaned her head against the wall and just let the water pound down on her.

And if a few tears escaped to mingle with the falling water, well, that's just the way it was.

"I know," she said, her voice hoarse. "I do. And right now I just want to get clean and fall into bed with the two of you and escape it all for a few hours."
